Eating the proper kind of food is very important in the health of every person. That is one of the things that would make him healthy and strong. Determining a fresh one would be hard if you do not have any information on how to do it, therefore, you must take into account these few and simple ways.

Go to a reputable market. There are a lot of small markets in the metro. Although not all of them are selling old stock, you must still take caution in buying unto them because they are most likely to be selling old stocks of seafood. Just be cautious and examine the item properly.

Be well informed. There are actually certain time in the market where the fresh meats are being delivered. Ask unto the staff of the market as to what time the newest meat are delivered. Knowing such will help you buy those brand new fishes in cooking for your favorite dish.

Check the eyes. The usual tip by those frequent consumers is to look into the eyes of the fish. An indication of a new one is having a bright and red eyes. Conversely, an old stock would show a foggy and hazy eyes. Do not buy these fishes because they might give you health problems in future time.

Touch the fish. By touching such, you would know if that one is new or not. A new one should be shiny and glossy, unlike an old one which is has very dull color. Also when the body bounces back, it is an indication that such a new one so you better buy that. In this way, you are able to find out if these fishes are indeed new and safe to eat by you and your family.

Sniff the fishes. A good smell is an indication of a good and delicious food. This is also same when choosing meat fishes for your recipe. Before buying one, try to smell it first. If they smell like they just come from the sea, they are more likely to be new. But if you can smell a bad odor and a stinky smell then do not buy it because it might be an old stock.

Inspect the body. The body of the meat should not have scratches and unintended laceration. It must not have any wound or unusual black spot for it might be an indication that those fishes are not healthy ones. Also, look unto the gills and make sure that such has a pinkish color for it is also another sign that such meat is brand new.
